Foamflower (*Tiarella cordifolia*) is a shade-loving groundcover plant. It forms low carpets of lobed green leaves with bronze veins, turning reddish in winter. In late spring, it is topped with frothy spikes of tiny pinkish-white flowers that resemble foam.
It spreads via runners to form dense groundcover under trees and shrubs, suppressing weeds and protecting the soil. It loves moist, organic-rich soils in partial to full shade. Combine it with ferns and hellebores to create a textured woodland design.
